The Not for Profit (NPO) and VCFSE sector has been a solid foundation of Tricordant’s work for many years.
We have worked in, amongst many others, child sponsorship and development, criminal victim support, professional membership organisations, national and international Christian organisations, national and international development organisations. Recently we have also worked within ICS’s where they are seeking to develop collaborative arrangements with VCSFE organisations.
We have worked on a range of strategy, organisation design, governance reviews, organisation development, leadership development projects – bringing a bespoke approach to meet the particular needs of individual NPOs.
Our values of trust, hope, love and joy are linked to our own Christian ethos and social responsibilities. Furthermore, through the Tricordant Foundation and other charitable involvements, we have a very strong and practical alignment to not for profit organisations.
Funding: Many organisations have been affected by cuts in government funding, reduced corporate giving, and increased competition for grants and donations.
Increased demand for services: NPOs are often relied upon to provide vital services to the community, and demand for these services has increased significantly in recent years.
System complexities: NPOs often work in tandem with the public sector, which have complex systems and can be hard for smaller NPOs to navigate successfully.
Changes in regulations and legislation: Such changes can have a significant impact on NPOs.
Impact measurement: Increasingly, funders and supporters are looking for evidence of impact from NPOs.
Recruitment and retention of staff: The competition for skilled workers is fierce, and NPOs often struggle to attract and retain talented staff.
Volunteer Support: Since Covid, there has been a dramatic decrease in the recruitment and retention of volunteers – leaving significant gaps in service provision and increasing pressures on employees.
We work in a way that’s congruent with the values of each organisation and understand their particular governance context, which is often very different from public and commercial organisations.
We combine organisational consultancy skills and experience with our own experience as charity and VCFSE volunteers, staff, chief executives, trustees and trustee chairs.
Our aim is to help you build a robust organisation that is agile and flexible to changing needs with a climate and behavioural norms within your organisation, that will allow your employees to feel empowered, work in a collaborative way, are better able to manage and cope with change.
As one of the UK’s first Certified B Corporations – reflecting our commitment to transforming the global economy to benefit all people, communities, and the planet, we generally offer discounted rates for NPOs, including working on a pro bono basis for particular causes, especially when they are linked to the Tricordant Foundation values and/or our core mission.
Just as there is not ‘one size fits all’ approach to our work with NPOs – the outcome objectives are bespoke to the individual and the organisation.
However, common goals are to help you build a robust organisation that is agile and flexible to changing needs, with a climate and behavioural norms within your organisation that will allow your employees to feel empowered, work in a collaborative way and be better able to manage and cope with change.
