The transfer of front-line Public Health from the NHS to Local Authorities in 2013 has placed Public Health at the centre of Local Government strategy and service delivery.
The economic austerity faced by Councils across the country to 2018 has meant Councils re-inventing themselves as enablers of personal and community independence. In turn a premium has been placed on the Public Health agenda of health improvement. health protection, the prevention of ill health and the enabling of community resilience.
We have worked with Public Health partners both before and through the organisational transition, into the new world of Local Authorities.
We have supported the development of collaborative working as well as orienting Public Health professionals through the radical change to their working lives.
We have helped build collaborative commissioning programmes and structure Public Health departments, as well as supporting multiple health and social care systems in their development of integrated care.
