Anticipating future workforce needs

Happy New Year! We hope you’ve had a wonderful winter break and are looking forward to an impactful year ahead. We’re kicking off the year with a series on Strategic Workforce Planning, leading to a webinar titled “Accelerating System Productivity and Efficiency through Strategic Workforce Planning.”

In today’s dynamic landscape, large multinational organisations and public sector ecosystems, like the NHS, face a labyrinth of challenges regarding their workforce. External forces, like digitalisation and internal factors, such as leadership’s risk tolerance, deeply influence their workforce strategies.

A robust and resilient economy or organisation invariably begins with a strong and adaptable workforce. However, often financial, workforce and operational plans tend to be developed in their own silos because of legacy planning processes. Compounded by cultural hurdles surrounding resource ownership, change management, and governance, it’s unsurprising that workforce plans frequently falter. This cycle of poorly planned workforce initiatives not only squanders organisational resources but also impacts people adversely.

Leaders shoulder the responsibility of nurturing a healthy and high-performing workforce that not only aligns with strategic objectives but also flexes in response to emerging changes.
