Hope for a great future

I am a Christian, as are many of my colleagues within Tricordant; a business founded on Christian principles and values. We have no barriers; we work with and employ people of different faiths and no faith. We believe in diversity, equality, and inclusion. We do, however, expect high ethical standards in line with the expectations of being a Certified B Corporation (a business for good where people and the environment are not to be sacrificed on the altar of profit); and a determination to deliver quality outcomes for clients.

This 1 Minute Read is going out as we approach Easter, a very significant time in the Christian calendar. A time when we celebrate everything that Jesus Christ did for us in sacrificing himself on a cross for the forgiveness of all the sins of mankind. Then, to be resurrected and allow those of us who give our lives to him, to live a life of freedom from sin and have a close relationship with the creator of the world; but above all hope. An invitation open to all.

We may have different perspectives on this, but I trust we can all be fine with that.

My reason for writing this piece is to create a stir, an unrest, in each of us at this time. For many, we are about to enter a new financial year with new budgets, plans, and hopes for a brighter future and year ahead. For some, though, it may be a gloomy prospect, and for you, I trust that you can find hope and inspiration through this short article.

What stir am I trying to create? A determination that the year ahead is going to be different. Not to settle for the same old or give in. Not to be put off by the change and transformations that you know are essential for future growth and improvement in service.

The link back to my faith, well, that’s about forgiveness, putting the past behind us and grabbing hold of hope for the future. A key Christian teaching on forgiveness is that it is a gift to ourselves, so be kind to yourself and let go of those past hurts. Take time this Easter to think about where you want to go, what you need to put behind you, and how to move on and make the year ahead one where you and your colleagues excel and make a difference for those you serve. I trust that includes us still being friends even if we have different views.

As always, Tricordant is here if you need any support, even if just a conversation over a coffee. My colleagues and I are always happy to chat.

Happy Easter! I hope someone buys you a really big chocolate egg!
